International Praise for UNIK Centers

An international panel appointed by the Danish Ministry for Science, Innovation and Higher Education has completed its evaluation of the UNIK initiatives, and hands out praise to the two UNIKs at UNICPH: UNIK Synthetic Biology and UNIK Food, Fitness and Pharma.

"The five-year UNIK block grant is built on trust in us as scientists and the University as a whole. This has enabled us to generate a framework that combines ground-breaking interdisciplinary basic science with applied science and product development," stresses the leader of UNIK Synthetic Biology, Professor Birger Lindberg Møller, when commenting on the positive evaulation. .

As noticed by the international panel, the success of Center for Synthetic Biology is based on strong academic leadership at all levels.

"All researchers in the project contribute actively and this makes it possible to successfully embark into blue-sky research with world-leading potential in a novel scientific field," states Birger Lindberg Møller.
