SYNBIOSYS summer school successfully completed

Last week an international team of PhD and Master students took part in the CPSC PhD summer school on "Synthetic Biology: From pro- to eukaryotic systems" (SYNBIOSYS). They spend the week engaged in assignments, presentations and cross-disciplinary dialogue. Guest lectures visited from Germany, the United Kingdom and USA to talk about different aspects of synthetic biology.

During the course the students were challenged to come up with novel synthetic approaches that could have potential commercial application. They, furthermore, worked on boosting their own projects by using the “Synthetic biology tool-box” compiled during the course.

The iGem team joined the course on Thursday afternoon to present and discuss theirSpace Moss project on how to apply synthetic biology to the challenges to space exploration and colonization of Mars.
