Collaboration - On the Edge of a New Paradigm
Alfred Birkegaard and Katja Gry Carlsen's documentary featuring Prof. Birger Lindberg Møller will premiere at CPH:DOX filmfestival November 7th 16:45 in Cinemateket
From Danish DIY biology hacker spaces to Google headquarters: a new culture of learning is interacting with the Internet for pushing the boundaries of research and knowledge creation, and how both are done today. Meet the researcher couple Allan Alfred and Katja Gry, whose new documentary is based directly on a PhD project in philosophy and who literally traveled the world to exchange ideas with some of the front runners in the new DIY wave of hacker spaces and open-source research. The lines across the world map speaks for itself: it's about networking, cooperation and exchange. 'Collaboration - On the Edge of a New Paradigm?' explains the philosophical development from the Renaissance isolated geniuses to the knowledge-related challenges and opportunities society is facing in the Internet age, where we are on the verge of a revolutionary paradigm shift. Listen for yourself from some of the modern research foremost minds.
There is a panel discussion after the premiere with the directors, Professor Besenbacher (CEO of Carlsberg and Director of the Carlsberg Foundation), Rector Dr. Hanne Leth Andersen (RUC), biohacker Malthe Borch, and senior scientist and inventor from Novozymes, Gernot Abel. Moderator: David Budtz Pedersen.
The documentary will also be shown on Nov 9th at the Synbio conference in Berkeley and on Nov 11th in Palads Bio in Copenhagen
