DR News: Synbio goes Red

The Danish biotech company Chr Hansen is collaborating with researchers affiliated with Center for Synthetic Biology to find a sustainable way to produce the natural red colorant, carminic acid, which is currently extracted from the scale insects living in Latin America. Danish national broadcasting corporation, DR, is reporting on the collaboration.

High School Student Awarded Prize for Synbio Project

A young high school student has been awarded this years "forskerspire" ("researcher sprout") science award for his synthetic biology project done at Center for Synthetic Biology. Awarded to the most original research project done by a high school students, this award is given to the brightest minds among Danish high school students.

Synbio Law Researcher to Talk at Biannual Event

Associate Professor of Law and Member of the bioSYNergy Steering Group Timo Minssen is among the speakers at the meeting in the ERAsynbio network in Copenhagen on the 26th of November. The talk is entitled: "Synthesizing the Law for Synthetic Biology? - Emerging legal challenges". The meeting is not open to the public.
